Designing My Own Coffee.
If you know me, you know i love coffee. Not just drinking coffee but the entire experience. My daily routine, making coffee with my Breville Barista Express, takes me a good 10-15 minutes and it has become much less about making coffee and much more of a daily meditation.
i also own a Hario V60 setup for pour over, an OXO Brew Compact Cold Brewer for, well, for cold brew, and a Moka Express in which i attempt to make authentic café Cubanos. i grind all my beans using the Baratza Encore Conical Burr Coffee Grinder. And for weighing purposes, i use a TIMEMORE 2022 with a built in timer.
To create a high quality coffee, that aligns with my vision of creating a business of the highest quality, i worked with the team at Carico Global to source only the finest quality coffee available in the world, but even that wasn’t good enough, i wanted to make sure that the coffee that we purchased also had an immensely positive impact on the communities where the beans are grown and Carico Global provides me that as they are the only coffee importer i could find that aligned with my goals, values, and mission to have a positive impact on the world.

Why Peaberry?
Much like you, and confirmed by the fact that you have found this page, the peaberry is an anomaly. Usually, coffee cherries contain two seeds, or beans, flat on one side and rounded on the other. In the case of peaberries, only one seed is fertilized. The peaberry are known to produce a cup of coffee that has a rich chocolate flavor, and delicate hints of dark fruits such as blackcurrant and plum, with an incredibly sweet and smooth finish.

Why Ugandan Bugisu?
Bugisu is home to almost 20% of the world’s coffee farmers, Uganda’s coffee is prized for its taste and versatility which means it ends up as an ingredient for some of the world’s most known coffee blends. Only now is it being put to the forefront globally as single origin. Carico’s coffees are grown under shade of indigenous trees, this allows the coffee fruit to grow and ripen slowly. The result is a harder bean which is then hand-picked when optimally ripe and then processed at a co-operative using a more delicate process known as wet-processing and are regularly turned as they dry in the sun.
