Endless Ripples of Positivity

You know, i have really come to dislike the term "B2B"

i feel like when we fall into this "business-to-business" mindset, it becomes far too easy to mistreat others, to play a role that may not align with our personal ethics and values, because "it's not personal, it's just business."

BUT, it's all personal! When we strip away the humanity in our professional interactions, we're left with a soul-sucking culture that treats people as expendable commodities.

Putting people first, is at the foundation of how we've built 33 Sticks. i've talked extensively about how we are a "people first" organization when it comes to how we view and treat our employees and this belief is extended to the people we work with as well: Our buyer isn't a faceless corporation; our buyer is you, a living, breathing, feeling, amazing human being.

As we've built a company, designed to challenge the status quo of the corporate world, we've had the incredible privilege of working some pretty prestigious brands -- VANS, Disney, Dollar Shave Club, Hallmark -- the list goes on and on.

One of the things that we realized, in working with these massive brands, is that our desire to move mountains was misguided. We weren't going to fundamentally shift how these companies did business.

BUT in focusing on the people we work with, putting our energy into helping them grow personally and professionally, guiding them to find more enjoyment and happiness in their craft as analysts, we discovered that as a result of that, we were having a very real and profound impact on the success of the businesses we work with as well.

Many people come to us frustrated about analytics and their future, feeling like they are just a cog in a massive corporate machine. But in working with us, similar to the approach we take with them, they learn that their true potential is not necessarily trying to change their companies by dropping massive boulders into a pond but by creating endless ripples of positive outcomes through continuously dropping smaller stones into the pond.

So here is the homework that i'm assigning for you today:

Take a few minutes to think about the impact you can have within your company. It doesn't have to be some massive, get mentioned in next quarter's earning call, type of thing. Sometimes the most profound changes we make come from those small acts that create endless ripples 🌊
